Opposite of a weapon

Drawing / Ceramic Sculpture / Screen Print,  2018-ongoing
In the wake of the 2018 school shooting in Parkland, Florida, I asked the question "What is the opposite of a weapon?" to people all over the country, including at the Tanner Gun Show in Denver, CO. The answers I received have manifested in an ongoing body of work called The Opposite of a Weapon, consisting of drawings, screen prints, and sculptures encouraging the public, specifically children, to start thinking about a culture of non-violence and disarmament. Exhibited April 2018 at Anderson Ranch Arts Center curated by Lauren Fulton, and at NoNRA, a pop-up exhibition in Dallas, TX during the 2018 NRA Convention.
